Alternative Energy |
|
Since I was in High School I have shared an interest in Alternative Energy forms. Being raised in the country and partly on a grain farm, I took Interest in alternative fuels made from Corn. My Step Father became interested in distilling Corn Alcohol as a mixing agent for gas-ahol. He also purchased a small car and planned to convert it to DC electric power.<< something that sadly did not occur. In the 1980's I attended a job schooling program that taught us to do Home Energy Analysis (basically heat loss calculations). One of the Professors that sponsored the class was Dr Schubert at Western Michigan University school of Mechanical Engineering. WMU While in the program I learned about Passive Solar, Solar Photovoltaic, Wind Power, Air to Air Heat exchangers and efficient ventilation systems. This time in my life sparked interests that continue to this day. Recently I have taken great interest in the making of Biodiesel. I have had the opportunity to use Biodiesel in the family Volkswagen Jetta, It has been nothing short of fantastic. This past year I have enjoyed downloading the Energy Self Sufficiency Newsletter it publishes the first of every month. ESSN Encapsulated in this links to the left you will find pictures and statements about my passion for alternative energy. The time has come to create a future and to not wait for it to come to us out of desperation. |
